Solo is the second capital city in Yogyakarta. It is famous as the batik and handicraft producers. Klewer is the name of the traditional market there and you can find various handicrafts there. Solo’s batik, woodcarving, earthenware, wood toys, furniture, and traditional food are goods, which sold there. Especially for furniture, it produces in a village nearby Solo. Trangsan village is one of the famous places as the central of furniture producers. The furniture is sold for local and international market so it must be in export quality. It has been distribute and sold to Europe (Eastern & Western Europe) and around of Asia Pacific such us: Japan, India, Thailand, Malaysia, New Zealand, and Australia.


It made of by various raw materials such us: jati wood, mahoni wood, rattan, eceng gondok, even from banana’s tree. The raw materials are processed become various bags, chairs, cupboard, and bed. Especially for eceng gondok and banana’s tree, they are new raw material and taken from the farmer as the waste things (recycling). While mahoni woods, jati woods, and rattan taken from Celebes and Kalimantan Island as the wood main supplier in Indonesia. All of the raw material will be processed and changed into the beautiful and useful furniture. It as the product of handicraft has been increasing the villager’s income in Solo and makes this area is very famous in the world.
